$25 000 going to 40 top causes

Article by Siim Einfeldt

More than 3000 causes were submitted by March 6 in hopes to receive the State Farm Neighborhood Assist grant. All of the causes were reviewed by the State Farm Youth Advisory Board and now top 200 have been chosen by them to compete against each other. If you're based in the United States or Canada, you have until April 22 to submit your vote to the causes you feel would have the most positive impact on your community. You can vote up to 10 times a day at www.statefarm.com/neighborhoodassist.

The Top 40 causes will be each receiving a grant of $25 000, that's a million dollars for causes that matter.

The money comes from the State Farm Youth Advisory Board, supported by State Farm, that is comprised of 30 students across the U.S. and Canada. All students are in ages 17-20. The Advisory Board's directive is to give out 5 million dollars a year for initiatives that help make positive impact to youth as well as communities. One million of that money goes to fund the State Farm Neighborhood Assist.

Help your community to receive the grant by starting voting already today!

"The beauty of State Farm Neighborhood Assist is that it places decision-making power directly in the hands of the public," said the State Farm Senior Vice President. "We hope the 2013 program is able to increase last year’s widespread positive impact on U.S. and Canadian communities."
